This is one of our group exercise ideas where the participants write sentences on each others backs. The words written on the back have to be in related to the theme and also have to relate to the person who’s back it’s written on. The persons write a sentence they think fits the other person best.

The exercise is played anonymously. Because of the anonymity everyone can feel free to write on someone’s back what he or she thinks is truthful about that person. This exercise is especially effective in groups where there are big disparities in status.

You can apply variations tot this Group Exercise Ideas

  1. You can vary with the themes. With one group it might be wiser to keep the subjects light hearted and playful. When you feel the group can take it, the subjects may become more serious with more depth.
  2. Instead of making the final sentence with the words someone thinks fits him most, you can instead let them make a sentence of what they’d like to be based on the words written on the paper.
  3. When the group doesn’t care much about the anonymity, you can make participants guess who wrote what on their backs. The one with the most correct guesses wins.
